Volcanoes National Park – Africa’s oldest park
Famous for its mountain gorillas, this park is also home to other endangered mammals, such as the golden monkey and the African elephant. Its diverse flora supports many bird species that add to the park’s allure.
Nyungwe Forest National Park – Primate stronghold
This lush rainforest is home to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees, colobus monkeys and vervet monkeys. Agile and social, these primates can often be seen foraging in large groups. Nyungwe NP is also known for some of the world’s most beautiful orchids.
